Subscribe to CrunchBase Newsletters   August 13, 2013 Santa Monica-based, personal data storage cloud app Younity raised a $3.54 million seed round from Crosslink Capital, Draper Associates, PROfounders Capital, Lowercase Capital, and Tekton Ventures, among others. Younity is a no syncing cloud platform that lets you access your files on any device. Founded in 2010, Younity wants to be the alternative to iCloud.   Santa Cruz-based, business intelligence platform Looker raised a $16 million series A round led by new investor Redpoint Ventures and returning investor First Round Capital. Looker plans to simplify query languages like SQL into a more natural language. Launching earlier this year from stealth, Looker reported 40 paying customers.   Since the last email, CrunchBase captured more than 30 rounds and $280 million in fundings... and the data keeps rolling in.
