The launch would follow an accelerated deployment timeline from the U.K. government that fast-tracks pilots of robotaxis to spring 2026. Read More 💬 Hopefully Siri's less useless: Apple was notably quiet during WWDC about launching a more personalized, AI-powered Siri, which it first talked about at last year's event. Apple's SVP of software engineering said the team needed "more time" to get the new Siri ready, and said plan to share more details "in the coming year." Read More 📈 Exponential scale: OpenAI says it recently hit $10 billion in ARR, up from around $5.5 billion last year. The figure includes revenue from OpenAI's consumer and business products, as well as its API. The company is targeting $125 billion in revenue by 2029. Read More 🎨 Mixed reality: At WWDC, Apple unveiled a slew of updates to visionOS 26, the operating system powering its Apple Vision Pro headset. We're getting new spatial widgets, more realistic Personas, talking heads, enterprise APIs, and some navigation features. Read More | | | ❌ That's illegal! Britain's media regulator Ofcom has launched nine investigations into internet companies over possible breaches of online safety laws, Reuters reports. Unsurprisingly, 4chan is on the list for possibly sharing child sexual abuse material. Read More 🎶 M&A Land: Tencent Music is buying Chinese podcasting startup Ximalaya Inc. for $1.3 billion in cash and stock, reports Bloomberg. The deal is meant to help Tencent become China's answer to Spotify. Read More 🇷🇺 The man in the middle: An OCCRP investigation has found that the technical infras underpinning Telegram is controlled by Russian network engineer Viktor Vedeneev, who has a history of collaborating with Russian intelligence services. That's a problem since Telegram's "end-to-end" encryption is vulnerable to being tracked by anyone who can monitor its network traffic. Read More | | | 📷 Thank goodness: Apple has responded to wide user dismay over updates to its Photos app. The company is now going back to the good old days when the app had a tabbed interface. The Library tab will let you scroll through recent photos, and a Collections tab will take you to favorites, albums, and other ways to search your Library.
