Facebook tries its hand at hardware with Portal Why is Facebook getting into hardware? The company is attempting to solve the problem of face-to-face communication, turning the device into less of a barrier in video chatting. The hardware comes in 10- and 15-inch models. There's the standard Portal, which looks quite a bit like Lenovo's recently released Google Assistant Smart Display, and the more compelling Portal Plus.

With Chrome 70, hundreds of popular websites are about to break A lot of secure sites are set to grind to a halt with security error messages in the next version of Google Chrome, after the browser will drop trust for a major HTTPS certificate provider following a series of security incidents. 3. Public trials of the service will kick off next year. 6. The next big restaurant chain may not own any kitchens Investors are pouring millions into the creation of a network of shared kitchens, storage facilities and pickup counters that established chains and new food entrepreneurs can access to cut down on overhead and spin up new concepts quickly. 7.
