Windows Phone 7 Mango update release teased as Samsung unveil two new WP7 handsets

Samsung has officially unveiled two new Windows Phone 7 handsets with the Samsung Focus S and Samsung Focus Flash set to launch later this year running Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 Mango update.

Beating Nokia to the Windows Phone 7 Mango punch the two new Samsung handsets join the recently unveiled HTC offering as the second-generation of devices for the Microsoft OS.

Following the trend of large powerful smartphones the Samsung Focus S is to touch down with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display, 1.4GHz processor and an 8-megapixel camera all wrapped up within a minimalist 8.55mm form factor. A second, 1.3-megapixel forward-facing snapper completes the hefty specs array.

Slightly smaller than its Windows Phone 7.5 sibling the Samsung Focus Flash is to sport a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 1.4GHz processor and 5-megapixel camera making the grade.

Confirmed release dates and prices for the two new Samsung Windows Phone 7 Mango handsets have yet to be revealed.

Can the Mango update help the Windows Phone 7 OS compete with the likes of iOS and Android? Let us know what you think via the T3 Twitter and Facebook feeds.

iPad app news: Dolphin gesture-enabled browser launches

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 09:21 AM PDT

Draw a "T" and navigate straight to T3.com!

The gesture-based Dolphin browser, which has proved popular on Android and iPhone, now has a new version for the Apple iPad.

The free-to-download Dolphin HD browser allows users to easily navigate around the web by drawing gestures on the iPad's touchscreen.

For example a "<" will take you to the previous page, while a ">" symbol will bring you forward. If you draw a "G" it will take you to Google, while a backwards "C" shape will refresh the page.

Users can also create their own custom gestures, so for example you could make a "T" shape take you straight to T3.com.

The iPad version of the app also includes a version of the Dolphin Magazine, which collates your favourite content from around the web in the same manner that Flipboard has achieved so successfully.

The Dolphin browser is built on top of the Safari engine so it does have a familiar theme to it. We'd definitely recommend giving it a try.

Football Manager release date set as it looks to challenge FIFA 12 and PES 2012 to top the football table

Adding to the sporting franchise’s hugely popular series Sports Interactive and SEGA Europe have announced that a Football Manager 2012 release date has been set for October 21st.

Set to hit stores three weeks after the FIFA 12 release date and just seven days after PES 2012 touches down, Football Manager 2012 is to go up against the two biggest annual football gaming releases as well as the soon to launch Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Expected to continue its run as one of the most addictive and time stealing titles of the year Football Manager 2012 is to play host to a flurry of new features with transfer, contracting and scouting features all being overhauled.

"It's another year of evolution, with some revolution thrown in for good measure so we're pretty sure our dedicated communities, and hopefully lots of new people too, get to play and enjoy the game when it's released later in the year," said Miles Jacobson, studio director at Sports Interactive speaking on the game’s unveiling earlier in the year.

iPhone 5 features leak with 16GB and 32GB handsets

Posted: 12 Sep 2011 04:08 AM PDT

iPhone 5 release date to see 16GB and 32GB black and white handsets launch

Ahead of the eagerly awaited and much hyped iPhone 5 release date smartphone network provider Vodafone has seemingly revealed a selection of upcoming iPhone 5 features.

In a recent online listing for its SureSignal network enhancing box Vodafone mentioned Apple’s much mooted iPhone 5 handset under the list of compatible handsets, sparking further speculation around an imminent arrival.

Adding to the rapidly growing and already expansive list of iPhone 5 rumours Vodafone suggested that the iPhone 5 release would see the iPhone 4 follow-up land with 16GB and 32GB storage options, not the 64GB filling that many are hoping for.

As well as revealing the handset’s storage capacity Vodafone’s listing claimed the iPhone 5 will be made available in both black and white colours schemes suggesting Apple is looking to rectify the white iPhone 4 fiasco that saw the lighter-hued handset delayed for several months.

Speaking with TechRadar following the supposed leak a Vodafone spokesperson said: "We're looking at how this listing appeared, but in the meantime we won't be commenting on any rumour or speculation."

What features would you most like to see land on Apple’s next-generation iPhone 5 device? Let us know via the T3 Twitter and Facebook feeds.
