Apple iOS 4.3 has launched for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users with the latest OS bring with it more than expected. As well as the well publicised list of feature editions iOS 4.3 code has confirmed the iPhone 5 will have the A5 dual-core processor as found in the iPad 2. On the iPad 2 Apple has today released the official iPad 2 video guides to help users find their way through the new tablet's features.
Gaming add-on updates are big business with both PlayStation and Xbox offerings today grabbing headlines. Whilst Microsoft's Xbox Kinect peripheral has been recognised as the biggest, fastest tech release in history, Sony has launched online storage for PlayStation users.
Sir Richard Branson has taken time out to sit down and talk exclusively with T3 about Virgin and all things tech. Having exclusively revealed that Virgin Galactic will begin manned space flights within the next few months, the billionaire entrepreneur announced Apple was his favourite brand and he would love to merge Virgin with Apple and work alongside Steve Jobs. Hear more from Branson in our video below.

Apple releases iMovie and GarageBand for iPad early Posted: 10 Mar 2011 11:06 AM PST The iLife mainstays come to iPad After giving software update iOS 4.3 a premature birth yesterday, Apple has followed up by outing the hotly anticipated iMovie and GarageBand apps a day before they were set to arrive.
The new movie and music creation tools were met with a great reception at last week's iPad 2 unveiling, but weren't supposed to hit the app store until the new tablet hits the shelves in the US tomorrow.
For GarageBand fans with first gen iPad devices, you can download the app for your device now, but would-be movie editors will have to wait until they get an iPad 2 or just use the updated palm-sized version for the iPhone 4 or iPod touch.
iMovie brings full screen HD video editing to your iPad 2. Features will include a precision editor which allows you to perfectly tailor the video clips using the touchscreen, a multi-track audio editor which means you can bring in tracks from your iTunes library.
There'll also be 50 new sound effects and a range of new themes. The new HDMI adapter will mean you'll be able to play back your movies in HD on your TV set, while the app enables budding videographers to share their work with Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and CNN's iReport citizen journalist type channel.
The other big hitter is GarageBand. The wow feature here has to be the on-screen piano which not only allows you to play in all octaves and scales, but is now sensitive to your touch. If you press harder or softer on the keys the output will be different, you know, like an actual piano. There's also drum kits, drum machines, guitars and synthesisers to to assist you with creating your masterpiece on the 8-track recording tool.
They're called "smart instruments" because, according to Apple you don't need to be a musician to play them. If you want to refine your project you can send it to your Mac and continue editing. Very cool.
Both apps are priced at a hugely reasonable £2.99.

Virgin Galactic to take space travellers within months Posted: 10 Mar 2011 08:42 AM PST Virgin Galactic to lead into supersonic flights Virgin founder an entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson has announced manned Virgin Galactic space flights are just a few months away as he targets the return of supersonic flights.
Speaking exclusively with T3 the billionaire airline owner and former record label head declared that although Virgin Galactic is on the brink of manned space tourism, the company has bigger plans routed in supersonic transcontinental travel.
Detailing how this rapid travel would work the fear-loving adventurer explained: “When I talk about intercontinental travel it is possible that you'll travel into space on the way to Australia and pop back down again. You can become an astronaut on your way to Australia. It is the most exciting thing Virgin has yet done.”
“Hopefully in my lifetime, but definitely your lifetime we can board a Virgin inter-continental plane or rocket and travel very fast around the world. Our first challenge is to get people into space for a fraction of the price that it costs to date but after that we'd love to do intercontinental travel.”
Getting off the rigours of business, Sir Richard Branson, a man famed as much for his ballooning exploits and adventurous stunts as much as his global brands, spoke openly on where his desire to forward travel possibilities and reach new heights came from. “One of my most recurring dreams is to flap my arms and go flying. Peter Pan is my favourite fictional figure and I was absolutely sure that I would be able to head off to Oxford by jumping in some kind of contraption or strap something on my back. I'm surprised it hasn't happened. Again, I'm sure that somebody will have a breakthrough in the next decade or so and we'll be able to fly safely. It'll be a great thing to be able to do.”

Richard Branson dreams of merger with Apple and Jobs Posted: 10 Mar 2011 07:53 AM PST Virgin-Apple merger on Branson's mind Billionaire and founder of the Virgin brand, Sir Richard Branson has declared his love of Apple and admiration for the company’s talismanic leader, Steve Jobs. -------------------------------------------------------- Richard Branson on Apple
Source: T3 Tech Videos -------------------------------------------------------- Speaking directly with T3, Branson, who recently launched the iPad exclusive magazine Project, sung the praises of Steve Jobs saying of the man who is currently undertaking his third medical leave of absence since being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2004 “He’s the entrepreneur in the world I most admire.”
The airline owner and adventurer who boldly claimed: “Everything he does is real class and if he wanted to re-name his company Virgin-Apple, we'd be more than happy to merge,” went on to add: “Great brand, great company and may he get well soon.”
Despite his fondness of Steve Jobs and the Apple brand, Branson is unsure as to the how long Apple can maintain its upper hand. Having said of the Apple tablet: “I've recently discovered the iPad and looking forward to seeing the new one,” Branson went on to express concerns over Apple’s threat from competitors. He said: “I don’t know whether Apple can stay ahead of the game with all competitors, with Google coming out with their software which enables you to do it on every single bit of electronic equipment I don’t know. There is a possibility that Apple will not reign supreme indefinitely”
Returning to his Apple loving comments, Branson concluded: “Steve Jobs would have to be my personality of this year because it sounds like he may not be coming back [to work]. He really has done incredible things and he's got a great legacy.”

iPhone 5 dual-core processor confirmed by iOS 4.3 coding Posted: 10 Mar 2011 06:45 AM PST Mooted iPhone 5 to follow iPad 2 down dual-core route Following the release of iOS 4.3 a number of eagle-eyed developers have spotted a section of code that appears to confirm the mooted iPhone 5 will stock the same ARM A5 dual-core processor as the iPad 2.
Mimicking in the footsteps of the recently announced second-generation iPad, the iPhone 5 is expected to be unveiled in June or July thinner, lighter and faster than its predecessor, with the A5 dual-core processor now a widely-expected inclusion.
This latest iPhone 5 dual-core processor leak follows recent reports and speculation making the seemingly small leap to suggest the next-gen iPhone will sport the same processing power as the upcoming iPad 2, a specification that would see it challenging the current fleet of high-end smartphones. Other iPhone rumours have recently suggested the imminent handset release will see the device adopt a new metallic back with the antenna built into the rear-mounted Apple logo.
Will the iPhone 5 come equipped with an A5 dual-core processor? Let us know what you think via the T3 Twitter and Facebook feeds.

Sexually suggestive We Dare game release pulled from UK Posted: 10 Mar 2011 04:40 AM PST Orgy-inducing We Dare game jerked from UK distribution Having caused a stir with its raunchily explicit and highly suggestive advert, developer Ubisoft has announced it is to pull the UK release of the upcoming We Dare game release.
The sexually suggestive trailer that featured lesbian kisses, lap-dancing and bottom-spanking aplenty hinted that orgies were a natural by-product of the game and caused controversy after the title was handed a 12+ age rating by PEGI (Pan European Game Information), the company responsible for the censoring of all European game releases.
Whilst gaming fans in the UK and US looking to do the Nintendo Wii or PS3 equivalent of having friends over and filling a bowl with car key will miss out, the more liberal minded European gamers will be able to enjoy all the gaming-induced partner-swapping, gyrating, dry-humping they like when We Dare launches on the continent.
Is Ubisoft right to pull We Dare from a British market? Share your thoughts on the decision with us via the T3 Twitter and Facebook feeds. Make your own mind up by watching the

Sony PlayStation online storage launches Posted: 10 Mar 2011 02:19 AM PST Room to save your pics and video? Not quite... Sony has announced that online storage for PlayStation Plus members now have access to online storage from today.
While non-members may be thinking this could finally be a reason to shell out to join the PlayStation Plus club, you will only get 150MB of storage to play with.
According to Sony, that should be more than enough for a maximum of 1,000 game saves to store in the cloud.
Additionally gamers can also save copy protected game data in the Online Storage, but will have to wait 24 hours before accessing it on another PS3 console.
PlayStation Plus, which offers access to exclusive demos and other PlayStation-related goodies, currently costs £39.99 a year or £11.99 for 90 days. Whether 150MB of storage will convince you to join, we are not so sure.

Posted: 10 Mar 2011 02:18 AM PST Bargain bucket blower comes with super loud speaker. Love creating a racket with naff R’n’B on the bus? Or just keen to save money while recapturing your misspent youth? Then the Nokia X1-00 is the phone you’ve been waiting for.
Costing just €35 (£29) SIM-free, it’s one of Nokia’s cheapest ever phones. But it’s not only the price that’s eye-catching, it’s the loud speaker slapped across the back. Nokia says it’ll create enough noise, “…to rattle your window frames”.
Apparently, the speaker’s frequency response has been tickled so it doesn’t cause the horrific distortion so often associated with mobile speakers. Which means the kids can crank the X1-00 up to 11 on the back seat of the bus and you can hear every word and beat crystal clear.
Speaker aside, the Nokia X1-00 comes with a colour screen, Series 30 software, SD support up to an impressive 16GB and a 3.5mm jack for bunging on your own headphones. It’s due to land in April in “selected markets”.

Posted: 09 Mar 2011 11:49 PM PST New Symbian interface sitting pretty on updated email workhorse. Symbian might be ailing as a platform, but Nokia hasn’t abandoned its creaking smartphone OS completely. The Nokia E6, spotted and detailed back in January, has just posed for a new spy shot and appears to come rocking an updated version of the old-school operating system.
The E6 rocks new Symbian icons, with four rather than three homescreens. The subtle changes tie into a recent leak which showed a Nokia exec touting an updated edition of Symbian at a developer meeting.
Specs-wise, the Nokia E6 pairs a QWERTY keyboard with a 2.8-inch, 640x480 touchscreen and an 8 megapixel camera. With specs and pics already out in the wild, chances are Nokia won’t take long to release this slick new effort.

Xbox Kinect fastest selling consumer electronics device ever Posted: 09 Mar 2011 11:30 PM PST Microsoft's Xbox 360 add-on outstrips iPad and iPhone. Xbox Kinect, Microsoft’s motion controller, has been crowned the fastest selling consumer electronics device ever by Guinness World Records. The add-on sold a massive 133,000 units daily during its first 60 days on sale.
That figure falls just shy of the 8 million Kinects Microsoft said it had sold by the first week of January 2011. The hands-free controller system appears to have outstripped Sony’s PlayStation Move completely, while also outdoing both the iPad and iPhone in terms of early sales.
“The sales figures here speak for themselves,” said Gaz Deaves, Editor of Guinness World Records 2011 Gamer’s Edition “We can confirm that no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector.”
